School Counseling Department
The Guidance and Counseling Services Department contains the school personnel who assist students as they mature and develop during their high school years. Guidance and Counseling Services personnel are counselors, deans, social workers, and all of the important people who work behind the scenes such as registrars, nurses and secretaries. The functions of Guidance and Counseling Services can be grouped into four categories:
Personal Adjustment - assisting students in their orientation to the school and aiding in their physical, social, emotional and scholastic adjustment and growth
Guidance - helping students in their course selection, testing, and post-high school planning
Communication - facilitating dialogue with teachers, students, and parents
Administration - processing records, reports and bulletins
